Youth Network for better media visiting TVSA
Regardless of the fact that young people get most of their information from social media, credible and professional journalism should play a major role in forming young people and strengthening their activism. Precisely for this reason, and in order to retain a young audience, mainstream media should listen to their needs for various media content. This is just one of the segments of the project #MladiZaBoljeMedije, funded by the European Union, and implemented by Mediacenter Sarajevo and organisation Ja bih u EU.
Representatives of the Youth Network for Better Media formed were hosted by journalists, producers, editors of N1, TV Hayat, TV7 and TVSA. They tried to bring youngsters closer to all aspects of journalistic work, but they also wanted to hear comments about the content of their program and suggestions on how to harmonize that content with the needs of young people. In order for youngsters to better understand the position of media and journalists, they were told about the tasks they face every day, nervousness as an integral part of every appearance in front of the cameras, the dynamism of journalistic work and entire process of creating media content. T
hey appealed to young people to strengthen their media literacy and to check the credibility of the content they consume.
