
About Us
NGO Ja bih u EU (JaBiHEU) offers an exceptionally motivated team and a network of local partners that combine a solid track- record of accomplishment in developing, managing and implementing projects on Euro Atlantic integration issues in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. The vast knowledge of the political, economic, security, cultural and media landscapes – and deep awareness of the potential barriers to success – has helped shape different projects by placing the focus on issues relevant to the country's democratisation and reform processes, reflecting cross-community concerns and priorities.
Our organisation is also specialised in awareness raising and building capacities and constructive dialogue primarily among youth, but also among local CSOs, media and institutions to carry out and act upon various themes that are relevant for EA integrations and priorities from the EC Opinion on BiH membership’s application.
Our key goal is to bring closer the complex EA integration processes to youth and citizens and contribute to the building of capacities of civil society to influence policies and legislation in line with EU standards and to support more transparent and accountable governments.
We advocate for stronger rule of law with our project Youth Rule of Law Lab funded by the European Union. The project aims to present youngsters with roles of judiciary institutions and support youngsters to regain the trust in judiciary. Along with journalists associations and media organisations, within the EU funded project Media and Public credibility, we developed two laws: Transparency of Media Ownership Law and a state level Law on Media advertiisng. We also work in the area of anticorruption with our project Bez štele i pošteno funded by CCI and USAID. Also, Ja bih u EU works on Youth Rule of Law Lab that educate youngsters on rule of law, judiciary and legal system in BiH.
In the area of human rights and fundamental freedoms, we work with our EU funded project „Equal Access for All“ on adaptation of media contents (TV, web, video and online) to persons with disabilities primarily deaf, blind and persons with hearing and visual disparities.
Ja bih u EU also worked in the area of freedom of expression and independent media, including a safe working environment for journalists in traditional and digital media with our project Tune to Digital Against Harassment with Croatian association of journalists signed. We also work on the project Youth for Better Media funded by the EU where for the first time we are reconnecting youngsters with journalists and media with an aim to produce better and more relevant content of media that will be interesting for their young audience.
Also, Ja bih u EU worked on the OpenUp4- EU Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, funded by the EU FPI gathering media and CSOs, business community in Serbia and Kosovo and promoting the EU moderated Dialogue.
Ja bih u EU worked promotion of Euroathlantic integrations among youth with US Embassy funded project AboutU.
Also our project Strengthening civil society in Bosnia and Herzegovina to recognise and monitor online threats on the social media focused on counter-terrorism and countering violent extremism. We have a pool of 80 young monitors and 11 mentors who are qualified to monitor threats on online media and identify trends. Also we have a digital platforms
Ja bih u EU is based in Hamdije Kreševljakovića 64 and Ćumurija 2, Sarajevo. It has HUB Equal Access for All, editing capacities and two offices. It employs 5 full time and 90 associates BiH and WB (researchers, experts in RoL, democracy, media, as well as analysts, media planers, editors, journalists, IT, monitors etc). The operational area is Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region of Western Balkans.
